School Readiness
School Readiness Assessment
Supporting Confident and Connected Transitions into Kindergarten
Offered collaboratively by a Registered Psychotherapist and a Qualified Teacher/Special Education Specialist, this non-diagnostic, neuroaffirming School Readiness Assessment is designed for children aged 3.5 to 5 who are preparing to begin school. Our goal is to help families and educators understand how best to support each child’s unique strengths, needs, and learning style as they transition into the classroom environment.
This is not a test of intelligence or readiness in a pass/fail sense. Instead, it’s a warm, strengths-based snapshot of a child’s development across key domains known to support early school success.
What the Assessment Covers
Together, we gently explore a child’s development in the following areas:
Pre-Academic Skills – Early literacy and numeracy, fine motor coordination, print awareness
Social-Emotional Development – Play skills, peer interactions, emotional regulation
Communication Skills – Expressive and receptive language, social communication
Adaptive Functioning – Independence, daily routines, transitions, and flexibility
Sensory Processing and Regulation – Awareness of sensory needs and strategies for comfort
Temperament & Learning Style – Observing how each child approaches new environments, tasks, and relationships
This collaborative approach brings together educational insight and therapeutic expertise to provide families with meaningful, actionable feedback—not labels or diagnoses.
